Write your ingredients naturally, one ingredient per line. Begin each line with a *.

Syntax:
[group name]†‡
* {W/V} {(W/V)}†{INGREDIENT}{, preprocessing}†

Examples:
[Cupcake]
* 200g (1 cup) white flour, sifted
* 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
* 2 eggs
[Icing]
* 100g icing sugar

W/V — Weight or Volume; see examples
† — Optional
‡ — In order for the grouping to show up in the recipes page, if [cupcake] exists in Ingredients, [cupcake] must also exist in Instructions below.

Write your instructions naturally. Start each instruction on a new line and with a number and a dot.

You can write anything in the instructions as long as you begin with with a number and a dot. Here is a more complete example with grouping shown:

[cupcake]
1. Mix flour, water and eggs in a mixing bowl
2. Let the mixture stand for a while
[icing]
1. Mix icing sugar with egg white

A Note on Grouping: In order for the grouping of ingredients and instructions to show up on the recipes page, please ensure that the group is in both Ingredients and Instructions. For example: if [cupcake] exists in Instructions, [cupcake] must also exist in Ingredients above.
